Craven Hill Mews

The house had been very oddly re-modelled in the 1960’s. A staircase passed through the living room and rooms lead into one another. The kitchen was a slot and it was dismally dark. A photograph opposite shows the original front. My brief was to increase the accommodation. I made more space for bedrooms by concentrating all circulation off a large timber-lined spiral staircase and extending into part of the rear yard. A roof terrace provided private outdoor space for the master suite and a study area was won from the attic.
