The front elevation was the major feature of the Grade II Listed office building. The ramp could have been very intrusive, but it was set behind a facing brick wall which extended the existing plinth. The new wall hid discordant angles and gave freedom to design a contemporary ramp with glass balustrade, stainless steel handrails and Portland stone base. A seat overlooks the small public space.
